    Katerschmaus and Katerholzig

If you’re looking for a GREAT place to eat and then stay at the same place to dance, make sure you book a table at the restaurant Katerschmaus and after enough wine and a good dinner make your way into Katerholzig.

    Katerschmaus

We booked a table at 21:30, which was a perfect time. Once the cab driver drops you of you need to walk up to the entrance of Katerholzig. The bouncer there looked at us and asked what we wanted. We explained him that we made reservations at Katerschmaus, but have no idea where it is. We needed to follow him, so we did. He took us through the open courtyard of Katerholzig, which was not open yet, up 3 stairs to the rooftop. There we found Katerschmaus! Amazing! We booked a table outside, which you should do as well. Especially when it’s warm.

We enjoyed a lovely dinner. We couldn’t stop looking around us. The place is really insane. You’re not allowed to make any photo’s.

    Katerholzig

After finishing dinner we decided to discover Katerholzig and all the small buildings around it. Again this is a playground for grownups:)! In the corner you had a bike, once you peddled on it, all the lights around the bike went on. You have a lot of different corners, for more privacy and amazing music playing from different rooms.

    Go check it out!!

    Tanzen mit Wilden Renate

    Salon zur Wilden Renate!

Boy o boy o boy, Berlin got a lot to offer! Clubbing in this great city is just insane. It goes on 24/7! Via friends we ended up at he pool party at Wilden Renate on Saturday afternoon. Because the temperature was over 35 degrees we decided not to waste any time and go straight to Renate.

The taxi drops you of on a corner. Renate is hiding behind big wooden walls. Although it was the middle of the day, people were already queuing. Once the bouncer decides to let you in, based on … we actually have no idea. I think it’s just how he feels. We know for sure it’s not based on your clothes, because most of the people visiting just look as they come straight out of bed or never went to bed:)!

Once inside it looks like you’re in a self structured playground for adults. They put an inflatable swimming pool in the middle of the courtyard stuffed with inflatable animals. People hang around in there bikini’s and techno is playing as background music.

We spent the whole afternoon there. Around 10 PM they opened the club inside. Renate has a lot of small rooms with each playing different music. When more people come in, more rooms will open.

After spending a lot of hours at Renate and decided to wave her goodbye, we saw people outside still trying to get in. I believe the queue was over a 150 meters long!

This place is just of the hook. You should definitely visit!

    Sleepover at Michel Berger

Each year me and 4 friends pick a city where we want to go to shop, go out, have dinner and drink nice wines. This year we picked Berlin and we spent two nights at the wonderful Michel Berger Hotel.

This Hotel is just lovely. It has an edgy decor, a nice bar and a DJ playing his tunes before going out. It has this really ‘raw’ Berlin style where you feel right at home. Me and my friends just made pictures of every corner, the clocks on the wall, the suitcases on top of each other, the lamps made of newspapers…just too cool!

You can hang out all night at Michel Berger, they serve the BEST Bloody Maries.

Another good thing about this Hotel is that it’s not that expensive. You can even book a room for up to 8 people. We booked a room for 5 and it was just wonderful. We felt like being on camp again with the modern made bunk beds:)!

Go check out Michel Berger and let us know what you think!

    SAUSAGES .. We love them!

The up and coming ‘Spaarndammer area’ gained a very cool place, WORST (in English ‘Sausage’)! They serve the best charcuterie platters and you can try all kinds of sausages, homemade, with wonderful side dishes..DELISH!

My friends and I ate the lobster, fennel and chorizo sausage. Amazing taste! If you want to enjoy a homemade sausage with a fine  glass of wine, make sure you check out WORST.

Here’s the link to read more about the place. Let us know what you think!

A Big Fish in El Borne

A Spanish friend of my brother recommended Big Fish and it was great! We reserved a table on a saturday evening at 20:30. This was a bit too early. Locals arrive an hour later. It’s in the El Borne area, which I think is the nicest area to stay when you’re visiting.

The place is famous for it’s fish. After tasting the salmon sashimi we were hooked and more fish followed; scallops, sardines, cod.
I do had the feeling I was a bit rushed through dinner. When we finished our plate,a waiter took it in a split second. I think because we were the ‘early’ shift, they wanted us out of there before a certain time. So be careful you’re not stuffed and outside within the hour:)! Take your time because the food deserves it and the place is a bit expensive, so you want to enjoy every minute!

    Paella at Pez Vela

Pez Vela is a great restaurant located at the beach near the famous W Hotel. It’s known for it’s paella. My friend and I went over there, not knowing this specialty and didn’t try it either:)… Big mistake, it’s suppose to be really good.

Of course there are enough other dishes which you can try. We first ate the clamps, as a tapa and both went for the catch of the day as a main. A wonderful tarbot which we absolutely loved.

The place looks really cool and has a great outdoor terrace. We went there during the evening. It’s also really nice to go during the day. You lay at the beach at the W and enjoy their paella during lunch!

So lots of possibilities at Pez Vela. Let us know if you liked it!

The owner of Pez Vela also has Tragaluz (really nice) and el Japonese. Both restaurants are located in a small street near the Passeige de Gracia.
